With the Royal Family breaking the news about the demise of Queen Elizabeth II, heartfelt messages from people around the world poured, honoring the 70-year reign of Her Majesty; who had ruled longer than any other Monarch in British history.
On Thursday, September 8, the royals released a statement from Buckingham Palace, giving everyone an update on the queen’s health.
“Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision. The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral,” read the short statement.
Few hours later, the Royal Family posted another short statement. This time, confirming the demise of Queen Elizabeth II.
People from different parts of the world took to social media to express love and extend prayers to the family of the late queen, who had been fulfilling her duties for the past seven decades.
“Thinking of Her Majesty and the Royal Family,” Facebook user Claudine Pepin said. “She has given her whole life in service to her people. May she be comfortable and surrounded by her family with love.”
“Whether one is a Royalist or not, one cannot but admire anyone who is still doing her duty to the best of her ability at age 96,” Chrissy McDonnell said. “That public vow she took all those decades ago to devote her whole life, whether it be long or short, to the service of her people was not just empty words, unlike those of most leaders who make far easier promises.”
“I’m not a monarchist myself but you have to respect a 100-year-old lady who lived with such passion and dedication to her role her entire life,” Erin Fraser expressed.
“I hope Her Majesty knows how much she is loved, admired, and appreciated. Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family,” Ruth Burrows wrote.
“May she rest in peace. What a wonderful Queen, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and, above all, a wonderful, and strong woman,” Lavinia Pagnotta said.
