Remember that adorable little girl in the popular 2009 “Bulilit, bulilit, sanay sa masikip…” (Sikip) commercial?
The cute little girl – Thrisha Luise “Cha-Cha” Cañete – was first discovered by talent manager Erik Matti upon noticing her inside a coffee shop at the ABS-CBN compound when she was only four years old. She started out as a commercial model for the real estate company Camella Homes, with the song “Bulilit Sanay Sa Masikip” and became a household name.
She appears regularly on the reruns of the children’s sketch comedy show Goin’ Bulilit. On October 19, 2019, she performed Girl on Fire by Alicia Keys in Tawag ng Tanghalan: Celebrity Champions.
In June of this year, she shared via Instagram her graduation photo after completing her SHS at the University of Santo Tomas-Senior High School.
Well, time flies! She turned nineteen last October and is presentlly pursuing a college degree at the Ateneo De Manila University; taking up AB Diplomacy and International Relations with Specialization in East and Southeast Asian Studies.
Other than attending to her college studies, this sweet lady who’s a music lover has also been sharing her singing prowess with her fans.
Around two years ago she showcased her talent in singing as she performed “Agwat” live on the Wish 107.5 Bus. The song was penned by veteran composer Jungee Marcelo and “talks about bridging gaps and fixing cracks in a relationship — something that can be applied to romance and beyond,” as described in the video’s caption.
She was TV personallity Bernadette Sembrano’s celebrity guest in the latter’s channel a couple of months back as she shared updates about her life.
It was during this bonding time with Sembrano that Chacha shared she was given the chance by her parents to enjoy a real childhood despite being already in showbiz. She continued her studies after 7 years as a regular cast of Goin’ Bulilit; thereby finishing SHS in good time and pursuing college now.
She recently guested at the Teleradyo Serbisyo with host Ms. Lyza Aquino together with co-guest, Mr. Markybap “Ang Pambansang Rater”.
