Beauty queen Catriona Gray expressed confidence that Michelle Dee will make Filipinos proud after giving a “solid performance” during the preliminary competition of Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador.
Catriona took to Instagram to show her support for Michelle. “Such a solid prelims performance!!! Your hard work is showing! Labannnn @michelledee,” she said.
In a separate interview shared by ABS-CBN News, Catriona said she believes that the competition officially starts during the preliminaries and Michelle did not disappoint.
“I am such a believer that the competition starts sa preliminaries talaga. Of course having a great arrival impression and also carrying yourself well hold its merit but it really comes time to shine when it’s the preliminary competition and I feel like she really delivered,” the Miss Universe 2018 titleholder said.
“Sobrang excited ako. I feel like we’re gonna do very well this year.”
Michelle’s performance during the swimsuit and evening gown competition also wowed other beauty queens like Pia Wurtzbach, Megan Young, and Pauline Amelinckx.
Also, Michelle was included in the Top 10 Silver Finalists for the prestigious pageant’s “Voice For Change.” Three Gold winners will be chosen from the 10.
The Miss Universe 2023 coronation night will be on November 18 (November 19, 9 a.m. in the Philippines.
