A dog who was hacked (tinaga) after eating meat at a market stand in Cavite is currently in need of medical support, rescuers from Strays Worth Saving (SWS) disclosed as they continue with their P10 donation drive for the poor canine.
According to the SWS, despite putting Horizon’s life in peril, the suspect remains unapologetic, blaming the dog owner for what happened.
“He was hacked after he ate the meat sold at the market, probably out of hunger. He has an owner but managed to roam around the nearby streets. This is when the incident happened,” it was disclosed. “There is definitely irresponsibility on the part of the owner but to hurt the dog with intent to kill is a crime, in case this person does not know the law!”
Upon learning about Horizon’s condition, the SWS immediately went to the dog and found him in so much pain. He was rushed to the nearest veterinary clinic.
“It was really so heartbreaking,” the SWS wrote. “All that was done was wrap a cloth around the wound.”
Having a deep, big wound, the dog had to undergo surgery and was later transferred to another animal care facility for his post-operation recovery and wound management.
“To those who can share with Horizon’s vetting and recovery, we will deeply appreciate it,” the SWS expressed.
The group is already pursuing legal actions against the culprit.
