“Seventeen years simula nang iwan mo kami, hanggang ngayon nami-miss pa rin kita,” Bino paid tribute to his late pet Mikko.
For the lucky ones who experienced the genuine love of fur babies, pets are not just pets—they are sources of joy, trusted allies, lasting companions, and angels from above, here on Earth and even after crossing the rainbow bridge.
In the Facebook group DOG LOVERS PHILIPPINES, loving pet owner Bino Cruz paid tribute to his late pet dog Mikko, sharing beautiful snaps of them since they were both young up to the fur baby’s final years; showing how they grew together while creating golden memories.
“Sixteen years ka naming nakasama at 17 years na ang nakalipas simula nang iwan mo kami. Hanggang ngayon nami-miss pa rin kita. I love you, Mikko,” Bino expressed in the caption of the photos he uploaded, touching thousands of hearts online.
In an interview with Traffic Digest, Bino shared that while he loved all his dogs, it was Mikko who owned a special place in his heart. The dog became part of his life when he was in grade school and left a void in him when he crossed the rainbow bridge after his college graduation.
“Lahat ng mga naging alaga namin minahal namin lahat pero kay Mikko talaga ako sobrang na-attach. Siguro kasi Ma’am Grade 1 pa lang yata ako, kung hindi ako nagkakamali, siya na talaga inaasikaso namin. Tapos iniwan niya kami tapos na ako ng college at naghahanap na ako ng work,” Bino recalled.
“Matagal bago ako naka-recover kay Mikko,” he added.
In the comments section of his post, Bino shared how their family filled Mikko’s tummy with good food while filling his heart with so much love. He also advised another fur parent to talk to her pet regularly.
Meanwhile, other fur parents also took note how pets grow to be a real part of the family and how hard it is to get over the warmth of their unconditional love, which can even surpass that of human beings sometimes.
But despite the struggle of moving on, memories with them live on, giving them the kind of strength that will always be enough to help them go through every single day.
