Celebrity mom Mariel Padilla had to bear the pain of lonely holidays last December after losing her beloved mother a couple of days before Christmas. As she takes the path to healing, the well-loved actress-host dedicated a heartwarming vlog for her late parent, capturing thousands of hearts online.

On YouTube, Mariel uploaded the video WE MISS YOU NYANYA!, honoring the memories of her mother, April Ihata.

“This is for you, Mom,” she expressed. “Your soul may have departed in this world but your love will remain with us forever. It would be an understatement to say that we miss you so dearly. But we know you are in a better place now.”

In the video, Mariel admitted how hard it has been for all of them and how they are coping at the moment.

“It’s been very difficult but we’re surviving. The grief is difficult but we are powering through because my mom was a very strong woman, so thankfully she passed on that strength to us,” she shared. “Today, we are celebrating her life.”

Mariel showed heartwarming photos and clips with her mom, her eulogy where she recalled her favorite memories with her, the bittersweet moments during the latter’s wake, and many more.

“She was called ‘Nyanya’ because when Isabella was small, she put together ‘nanay’ and ‘yaya’ ’cause she was taking care of Isabella every other day when I was at It’s Showtime. And my mom was so proud to be Nyanya. One of her greatest achievements and joys was to be Nyanya,” she reminisced.

The vlog was also meant to thank every single person who extended love and prayers to their family.

“To everyone who prayed for my mom, I am truly grateful to have virtual support from you. In return, this is me sharing my most vulnerable time. Join us as we memorialize my mom’s life and let us all offer a simple prayer for her soul and those who have passed on in our lives,” she said.
