Jaclyn jose passed away

Multi-awarded Filipina actress Jaclyn Jose, whose one of the many achievements was winning the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival, passed away on March 2; leaving her loved ones, fans, and the whole entertainment industry heartbroken.

While the veteran actress’ cause of death had not been disclosed earlier, as reported by GMA News, the veteran actress daughter Andi Eigenmann later revealed in a statement that her mother actually passed away on the morning of March 2 (Saturday) after suffering from myocardial infarction commonly known as a heart attack. She was 60.

Social media platforms are now flooded with messages of love and grief, as well as prayers for her bereaved family.

Born as Mary Jane Guck on October 21, 1964 in Angeles City, Pampanga, Jaclyn made her acting debut in 1984 through adult drama films in Chikas and Private Show, where she got her first FAMAS Awards nomination.

The following year, Jaclyn received her first Gawad Urian nomination for her portrayal in the film White Slavery, and not long after, won her first Gawad Urian Best Actress award for her character in the adult drama film Takaw Tukso.

In the late 1990s, Jaclyn rose to fame in Philippine television when she played the role of Magda in Mula Sa Puso and has since appeared in numerous telenovelas including Labs Ko Si Babe, Prinsesa ng Banyera, Zorro, Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo, Sabel, Mundo Mo’y Akin, My Husband’s Lover, and Alyas Robin Hood, among others.

In 2016, she top-billed the Filipino drama film Ma’ Rosa which led her to bagging the Cannes Best Actress Award.

Before her demise, Jaclyn was one of the cast of Coco Martin’s primetime series FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.
