Days after receiving tons of negative reactions from social media users, Filipino girl group 4th Impact‘s GoFundMe campaign for their 200 dogs’ “dreamland” is now unavailable.

Last February 28, the group of siblings’ eldest sister, Elvira, created a fundraising campaign titled “Farm Lot for our 200 Shih Tzu dogs” and encouraged their followers and fellow dog owners to support their cause.

“Hello, fellow dog lovers and our dear fans! My name is Elvira and I’m here with my sisters, 4th Impact, a Filipina singing group. Today, I’m reaching out to you with a heart full of love and a humble request for support,” she began.

Through the page, Elvira shared that they started taking care of only five dogs; which were gifted to them by their fans. To their surprise, they said, the numbers grew and the next thing they knew, they already got 200 dogs.

“Over time, our passion for these furry companions led to unexpected blessings, but also unexpected challenges. Despite our busy schedules, we’ve poured our hearts into caring for them, watching them grow from newborns to cherished members of our family,” she said.

The sisters, however, started to face the challenge of having limited space and funds for their dogs, highlighting their need for “space and resources”.

“Our neighbors raised concerns about the noise, prompting us to make the heartbreaking decision to temporarily separate some of our dogs, particularly the males from our home,” Elvira went on.

And that’s how they hatched the plan of creating a “dreamland” for their pets.

“That’s why we’re reaching out to you today. We dream of providing our furry friends with a safe and expansive farm where they can live out their days in happiness and freedom. It’s a dream born from our deepest love and dedication to these animals who have brought us so much joy,” the GoFundMe statement went on.

The girl group aimed to raise $10,000 or over half a million pesos through the aforementioned drive.

People online, however, did not like the idea saying the sisters could have been “more responsible pet owners”.
